Route of Industrial Heritage
Despite its name, this is not a "route" but a network connecting museums, exhibitions, panoramic viewpoints and historically important settlements, all right here in the "Pott" area. All these places of interest can be reached easily by public transport.

These are the highlights of the route:
Zeche Zollverein (Essen) - Colliery "Zollverein"
Tip: Why not take a guided night time tour around the colliery. It's worth a visit!
Deutsches Bergbaumuseum (Bochum) - German Mining Museum
Tip: Take a tour through Bochum. The legendary "Bermudadreieck" ("Bermuda Triangle", party mile) invites you to spend some time in its many different restaurants and bars.
Zeche Ewald (Herten) - Colliery "Ewald"
Tip: After your visit, why not visit the Revuepalast in the evening. We will be happy to order your tickets, please just ask.
Chemiepark Marl - Chemistry Park
Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg (Waltrop) - Ship lift
Tip: You can undertake some wonderful cycle rides along the Rhein-Herne-Kanal.
Maximilianpark (Hamm)
Tip: Ideal for families with children.
Lindenbrauerei (Dortmund) Zentrum für internationale Lichtkunst
Brewery "Linden" - Centre for International Light Art
Henrichshütte (Hattingen)
Tip: Take a stroll through the old town centre of Hattingen, or visit the Blankenstein castle.
Villa Hügel (Essen)
Tip: On a nice day, take a walk through the park.
Innenhafen Duisburg - Inner harbour
Tip: Enjoy some culinary treats with views of the canal in one of the many restaurants.
There is also plenty on offer for nights owls ...
Tip: Take a shopping tour in the Centro (Europe's largest shopping and leisure centre).
The Centro promenade is also very inviting.
Nordsternpark (Gelsenkirchen)
Tetraeder (Bottrop) - Tetrahedron
Tip: There are some great views over the whole of the Ruhr area. The Tetrahedron itself is illuminated by night.
