Great hotel. I always enjoy the Gruga.

Only suggestion for improvement would be heavier weights in the fitness center.

I really liked An der Gruga !! It is conveniently located, within walking access to the u-bahn, the convention center, Gruga park, the hospital, and numerous high quality restaurants. The hotel staff was very kind and friendly, and although they all spoke excellent English, they allowed me to practice the little German that I knew. The breakfasts were excellent, with great coffee and fresh brotchen (crusty rolls). And the rooms were always clean, and quite up to date. And the grounds were quite quaint as well.

I highly recommend this hotel to all my colleagues who will be staying in Essen.

I LOVE THE NEW RENOVATION OF THE ROOMS- ITS MORE CLASSIC NOW THAN BEFORE. THE RED MEDITERENEAN COLOUR IS MAGNIFICENT - WEL DONE

I HAVE TO SAY TO HAVE SOMEONE LIKE KAREN IS A BONUS TO YOUR HOTEL. SHE IS A WONDERFUL PERSON AND ALWAYS HAPPY TO HELP AND SERVE - VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. NOT TO MENTION THE REST OF THE STAFF AS WELL LIKE CATHERINE .

My stay at the An der Gruga was very pleasant. .The service as well as the hospitality was excellent. The food in the morning was alway fresh, and the service was outstanding. Rooms are always clean and well kept up. I would highly recommend anyone looking to travel to Essen to stay in the Hotel An der Gruga. I plan on coming back to Essen for business in the futhre, and I will plan to stay there again and again. Thankyou

You can see from the above we were very happy in your hotel having stayed there a number of times during the past two years.
